Racheal C. Walje York

Racheal Collin Walje York, 47, passed away Friday, March 3, 2023 at Columbia University Hospital.

She was born February 26th, 1976 in Paola, Kansas. She is a daughter of Thomas Joseph Walje and Patricia Ann Hatfield.

During Racheal’s fulfilling life, she held many things close to her. She was extremely passionate about collecting Betty Boop and celebrating Halloween. Her fiancé, Roger, introduced her to a love for fishing. She also loved her 3 cats, her dog Scruffy, and spending time with family. She was always there to light up the room with her endless jokes and bright personality. She was an affectionate mother, sister, and grandmother with a heart full of love.

Racheal worked years at the Sedalia Country Club as a server alongside her mother and sister.

Survivors include two children, Miami Abigayle York and Shelby Christeen York; a niece, Aris Paige Walje; nephew, Thomas Ian Walje; a sister, Marcella Paige Walje; Fiance, Roger William Stetzenbach; and a granddaughter, Aurora Christeen Richardson.

Racheal was preceded in death by both parents, grandparents Melvin and Martha Hatfield and John and Mary Walje and her brother Thomas Brian Walje.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with inurnment to follow at Highland Sacred Gardens. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Sedalia Animal Shelter.
