Ralph Leroy Farris, 90, of Sedalia, passed away Monday, December 10, 2018, at his home.
Ralph enjoyed hunting and fishing, liked to watch westerns on TV, loved to cook, loved his cat Mater, and of course his wife Catherine whom he married on November 16, 1984. He liked to sit on the front porch with a cold beer watching wildlife. After working 35 years for Broderick and Baskins Wire Rope, he retired as a supervisor. He was a certified mechanic and welder.
Ralph served in the United States Army from July 1946 to April 1947 in the military police. He has lived in both Mountain Home, Arkansas and Sedalia, Missouri.
Ralph is survived by his wife Catherine; two brothers, Roy and Harold Farris; one sister Erma Kellem; children Earnie Farris and wife Glenda of Arkansas, Ricky Farris of East Peoria, IL, Rebecca Gauwitz and husband Randy of East Peoria, IL, Karen Reagan and significant other Karen, Ralph Farris, Jr., of Peoria, IL, Kathleen Moore and husband Shawn of Peoria, IL, Mary Frances Parker of Katy, TX, Sherrie Ann Parker and significant other Jim of Sedalia, MO, Teresa Tyler of Bossier City, LA, Lela May Evans and husband Clint of Richmond, MO; 28 grandchildren, plus several great and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to both of his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Helen.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Highland Sacred Gardens with full military honors by the U.S. Army.
