Rebecca Ferne “Becky” Carver, 94, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2022.
She was born August 25, 1927, in Raytown, daughter of Rev. Walter P. Arnold and Eunice I. (Layton) Arnold.
On December 18, 1949, in Sedalia, she was married to Don Allen Carver, who preceded her in death on October 3, 2003.
Becky attended Smith-Cotton High School, was a 1945 graduate of Springfield High School and a 1947 graduate of Southwest Baptist College. She worked as a bookkeeper for Midwest Auto Stores for eleven years, until her first child was born. Then she became a homemaker.
Becky was a devoted Christian and member of East Sedalia Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and led worship.
She had a love for history, particularly Civil War history, and enjoyed visiting battle sites. She was a member of the Missouri State Historical Society.
Becky and Don enjoyed riding motorcycles and were members of the American Motorcycle Association. She also enjoyed playing tennis and traveling.
Becky loved her family and was devoted to her husband and children.
Surviving are a daughter, Kitti Homan (Mark) of Warsaw; a son, Jeffrey Carver (Shirley) of Sedalia; five grandchildren, Michelle Muller (Irving), Caitlin Homan, Matt Carver (Elizabeth), Caleb Carver (Megan), and Jacob Carver (Montana); and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Eugenia Hayworth (Gerald).
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2022, on her 95
th
birthday, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Rev. Kevin Anstine officiating.
Casket bearers will be Mark Homan, Matt Carver, Caleb Carver, Jacob Carver, Irving Muller and Adri Muller.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to East Sedalia Baptist Church.
