Rev. Carol Willadsen Ward

The Rev. Carol Sue Willadsen Ward, 64, of Sedalia, passed away December 22, 2015, at her home.

She was born December 19, 1951, in Dubuque, IA, daughter of Harold W. and Barbara E. DeYoung Schmidt, who preceded her in death.

On August 19, 1994, in Sedalia, she was united in marriage to Colin Ward, who survives of home.

Carol attained a Master’s degree in Divinity and was a pastor. She later worked as a travel agent for AAA.

She enjoyed many things, including playing the piano, singing, sewing, knitting, crocheting and art.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Andrea Eppenauer (Tim), of Sedalia, Shari Cunningham (David), of St. Peters, and Julie Willadsen (Greg Willson), of Sedalia; two grandchildren, Alex and Allison Eppenauer; three sisters, Ellen Arbough, Audrey Sherman and Diane Brinza; and one brother, Roger Schmidt.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2015, at Christ and Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Kimberly Knowle-Zeller officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service and at a luncheon following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Christ and Trinity Lutheran Church.

Cremation arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home.
