Richard D. Street, 80, of Warsaw, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City.
He was born on April 5, 1943 in Kansas City, KS, a son of Frank and Marie (Hubbard) Street. On September 2, 1961 in Kansas City he married Carolyn Klem who survives of the home.
Richard lived most of his life in Kansas City where he worked as a Union Meat Cutting Supervisor. At one time Richard and Carolyn moved to Colorado where they bought a resort to own and operate. After their time in Colorado they moved back to Missouri where they eventually moved to the lake area in Warsaw. Richard loved to travel all over the United States, Mexico, Bahamas, Australia, New Zealand, and Hawaii with the love of his life. He enjoyed fishing and in his younger years hunting for quail and pheasant. Richard was a handyman being able to work on anything especially if it was electrical or plumbing. He enjoyed scuba diving and watching the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. Richard sat on the board at Sterett Creek. He never met a stranger and could talk to anyone.
Survivors include his wife Carolyn; three children, Leslie Alig (Edward) of Warsaw, MO, Steven Street of Shawnee, KS, and Don Street (Bonnie) of Edwardsville, KS; one older sister, Janice Fischer (Dick) of Overland Park, KS; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Richard was preceded in death by both of his parents.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Indian Heights United Methodist Church, 10211 Nall Ave. Overland Park, KS 66207. Richard’s celebration of life service will be Kansas City Chiefs themed and the family asks you to wear your Chiefs apparel in memory of Richard. Cremation arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia, MO.
