Rick Geer
Richard H. “Rick” Geer, 77, of Sedalia, died Friday, October 13, 2017, at EW Thompson Health and Rehab.
He was born January 23, 1940, in Lakeland, FL, son of Carolyn M. Overstreet and James S. Geer.
Mr. Geer was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He always had a love of cars, which led him to owning his own salvage and repair shop. His love for racing evolved the business into building race cars and racing on weekends. He also like his Mother Carolyn was an avid artist that loved to draw. He especially loved to make homemade cards for his Grandson. His smile and laughter endeared him to everyone, even those whom he came into contact with late in life.
Surviving is his son, Sean Geer, and grandson, Brody Geer of Kansas City Missouri, two sisters, JoAnn Morton and her husband Ted of Sedalia MO, and Mary Ellen Hunt of Phoenix AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pamela Geer; a sister, Laurel Holem; and Frances Kost.
According to his Rick’s wishes, no services will be held. Burial will be in Smithton Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home.
