Riley Clinton Worthy Jr.
Riley Clinton Worthy Jr., 84, of Sedalia, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at his home.
Riley was born on December 21, 1933, in De Leon, TX, the son of Riley Clinton Worthy Sr. and Inez Webb Worthy.
On March 21, 1957, in Houston, TX, he was united in marriage to Dianne Peterson, who survives.
Mr. Worthy was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army and a veteran of the Korean War.
He earned a Masters in Computer Science and a PhD in Psychology. He worked as a research psychologist for the Bureau of Child Behavior at the University of Kansas.
Riley enjoyed woodworking and working on computers. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Including his wife, Dianne, he is survived by sons, Howard Worthy, of Houston, TX, Scott Worthy, of Anderson, SC, Lee Alyn Worthy, of Anderson, SC; daughters, April Worthy and Connie Mitchell, both of Kansas City; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother Joe David Worthy, of Conroe, TX,
He is preceded in death by his father, mother, and a sister, Sondra Locke.
Memorial services will be held on at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Scott Griffin officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
