Robert E. “Butch” Hayes

Robert Earl “Butch” Hayes, 71, of Windsor MO passed away peacefully at his home on the morning of Wednesday January 17, 2018 with his loving companion by his side.

Butch was born February 3, 1946, in Moberly MO, the only child of Marvin and Mary (Minor) Hayes. He graduated from high school in Moberly in 1964. He was a lifelong cattleman and cowboy.

In 1980 Butch and his family moved to Windsor MO. During the past several years, he also worked with the Amish hauling buildings.

Butch loved trail riding with Sheri and his friends, watching his horses show, and was an avid elk hunter that traveled to Colorado for over 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, duck hunting, going to George Strait concerts, and attending horse and cattle sales. Above all he loved time spent with his family. He had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger that he couldn’t start up a conversation with. He was also best buddies to Shorty, his canine friend.

He was a life time member of the NRA, member of AQHA, NRHA, MRHA and SWRHA.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his son

Chad Hayes and his wife Cheryl of Windsor MO, his daughter Cindy (Hayes) Windsor and her husband Brice of Fulton MO, grandchildren Danielle Hayes, Baylee Hayes, Haydon Windsor and Haisley Windsor and his loving companion Sheri Kauffman of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27, at Calhoun United Methodist Church, Calhoun, MO.

A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

The family suggests memorial donations to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital.

Cremation arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia.
