Robert E. Caton
Robert E. Caton, 87, of Lincoln, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Good Samaritan Care Center in Cole Camp.
He was born November 2, 1935, in Peebles, OH, son of the late Roy and Dana Mae (Purtee) Caton. On June 17, 1954, in Sedalia, he married Wanda L. Gehlken who preceded him in death on May 15, 2020.
Robert was a 1954 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He was a member of First Christian Church. He worked his way up at County Distributing and retired as Director of Operations in 1991 after 32 years of service. He then worked at Guardsman Security for 12 years. Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include four children, Gary W. Caton (Debbie) of Cole Camp, MO, Sherry L. Caton of St. Martins, MO, Penny A. Florez, of Lincoln, MO, and James Caton of Ridgecrest, CA; 14 grandchildren, Rachal Wegener, Bonnie Lawton, Nicholas Caton, Monica Seidner, Jessica Renner, Jennifer Chesire, Randy Florez, Joel Florez, Karrah Pirtle, Krista Driskell, Danielle Pate, Tiffany Caton, Robert Caton and Joseph Caton; and 25 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Diane R. Caton; three brothers, Wayne, Dean and Jim; and an infant sister, Virginia.
Robert’s wishes were to be cremated and no services are scheduled at this time.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Good Samaritan Care Center and may be left in the care of Heckart Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
