Robert Lee “Bob” Young, 79, of Sedalia, passed away Monday, November 23, 2020 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
He was born April 16, 1941, in Windsor, a son of the late Orval Cleo and Dollie C. (Cochran) Young. He was married to Athlene Carver and she preceded him in death in 2009.
Bob was a lifelong resident of Missouri, living most of his life in Sedalia. He worked for the City of Windsor and then worked 29 years as a heavy equipment operator for MoDOT.
He enjoyed hunting, raising hunting dogs and chickens. He was a Swap Meet enthusiast for over 40 years. He will be remembered for his ability to strike up conversations with anyone and his love of family.
He is survived by two sons, Rick Young and Robbie Young; a daughter, Debbie Browning; a sister, Mary Fleming; a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Glover; eight grandchildren, Mashele Escalante, Anjelina Denker, Sierra Young, Kayle Young, Brandon Young, Michael Hodges Young, Bree Young and Amber Young; four great-grandchildren, Morgan Overbey, Tyler Tucker, Rylen Denker, Olivea Denker and Moxie Keith; one great-great grandson, Grayson Young; three nieces, Kathy, Vickey and Rhonda; and one nephew, Michael.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Scott L. Young; two infant daughters, Robin and Michelle; a brother, Billy Young; and a sister, Ruby Adams.
