Robert L. Porter

Robert Lee Porter, 81, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Katy Manor in Pilot Grove.

He was born March 11, 1943, in Sedalia, a son of Arthur and Elaine (Fackler) Porter. On February 17, 1968, in Sedalia, he married Mary Evelyn (Streit), who survives of the home.

Mr. Porter lived in the Smithton / Otterville area his entire life. He graduated from Smithton High School in 1961 and attended CMSU and SFCC.

Robert worked at Olin Conductors, Sedalia for five years, then Bixler Gas Company for five years and retired from Waterloo Industries, Sedalia, after 22½ years in May 2001. He and his brother also farmed and raised cattle.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of the home; a brother, John Porter, of Smithton; five nieces; two nephews; four great nieces; and six great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a nephew, Gregory Porter.

Visitation will begin at 1:30 pm Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Heckart Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 2:30 pm.

Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Otterville.
