Ronald K. Vansell

Ronald Keith Vansell, 83, of Sedalia, passed away, Friday, January, 26, 2024 at his home.  

He was born November 25, 1940, in Sedalia, MO, a son of William Richard, Sr. and Hattie Marie (White) Vansell.   On August 6, 1971 in Falls City, NE, he married Norma Joy Morris who preceded him in death on May 10, 2021.

Ronnie honorably served in the Army National Guard.  He was a faithful christian man who attended the Sedalia Pentecostal Church of God and currently was attending the Crossroads Church of God in Sedalia.  Ronnie worked along side his father and two brothers with their family business Vansell Painting.  He enjoyed working in the yard, and was a big fan of the Kansas City Chiefs.  Ronnie loved spending time with his brother Jack everyday, fishing for crappie with his fishing buddy Bob Cross and checking in on his family every chance that he could. 

Survivors include three sons, Dino Norphy (Kim) of Texas, Frank Norphy (Sherrie Johnson) of Independence, MO, Dave Norphy (Cindy) of Arkansas; two daughters, DeAnna Sabin and Rhonda Taylor (Brian) all of Oregon; one brother, Jack Vansell of Sedalia, MO; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.  

In addition to both of his parents and his wife Ronnie was preceded in death by three daughters, Vicki Norphy, Carrie Vansell, and LaDonna Hughes; one brother, William Richard Vansell, Jr.; one sister, Mary Sands; and one son-in-law, Michael Hughes.  

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia.  

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at the funeral home with Rev. Billy Friend officiating.   

Burial will be held in Crown Hill Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the VFW Post 2591.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Balke, Jude Balke, Jake Herrick, Hayden Herrick, Jacob Smothers and Bob Cross. 

Memorial contributions are suggested to Crossroads Church of God in Sedalia or Kari Thorne (Ronnie's great-niece with Leukemia who needs help with medical expenses.  Checks may be made to Amy Franklin.)
