Rose Ann Solomon

Rose Ann Solomon died September 13, 2018 at EW Thompson Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born July 28, 1926 in Sedalia, MO daughter of the late Louis C. and Anna L. Heuerman.

On July 30, 1954 she married Robert L. Solomon at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, in Sedalia.

Mrs. Solomon was raised and educated in Pettis County, and in her early years was a cashier at the Fox Theater where she received the Chamber of Commerce Award in 1950.  In 1954, she and her husband moved to Excelsior Springs, MO where they resided for 14 years before returning to Sedalia in 1968.  Mrs. Solomon was an active member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Excelsior Springs serving as Sunday School and VBS teacher as well as a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.  She served several years as a den mother in the cub scouting program.

On her return to Sedalia, she was employed by Montgomery Ward from 1971 to 1983.

She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, the Bothwell Hospital Auxiliary, the Sedalia Knife & Fork Club and served as a Meals On Wheels volunteer coordinator for 12 years.   Rose Ann loved being with her family and friends and enjoyed sending out greeting cards for birthdays and holidays.  She also enjoyed playing cards, reading, working in her flower beds and following Kansas City Royals baseball.

Survivors include her husband Robert Solomon, of EW Thompson Health & Rehabilitation Center— two sons, David L. Solomon Grain Valley, MO and Steven M. Solomon, San Diego CA. Several nieces and nephews– Sharon Colvin, Lonnie Colvin, Patty Brandkamp, all of Sedalia. Bill Heuerman, Bethany, MO and Betty Edwards, Emporia, KS.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 17, 2018 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Sedalia, with Rev. Andrew Tessone officiating.

Family will receive friends and family from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Heckart Funeral Home, Sedalia.

Family suggests memorials to Our Savior Lutheran Church (Radio ministry) or the State Fair Community College Foundation.
