Ruby Lucille Irwin, 89, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at her home.
She was born December 13, 1925, in Sedalia, daughter of Anton and Mattie Ann Wheeler Schick. On June 24, 1964, in Sedalia, she married Milton W. Irwin, who passed away January 7, 1995.
Ruby was a member of Parkview Christian Church and was an honorary member of Chapter 57 Order of the Eastern Star, White Shrine No. 38, VFW Post 2591 Women’s Auxiliary and Moose Lodge 1494.
She enjoyed working in her yard with her flowers, walking around the neighborhood, and visiting with friends at Wal-Mart.
Surviving are a daughter, Melodie Irwin, of Sedalia, and grandchildren, Ke’ron and Kiara Irwin; a son, Terry Worthley, of Blue Springs, and grandchildren, Lil Terri and Angel; Rickey’s children, Jennifer, Michael and Stephanie; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Bale, of Sedalia.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Dennis and Rickey Worthley; brothers, Raymond, Buddy and Junior; and a sister, Opal.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 23, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rodney Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
