Ruby M. Yount Horn

Ruby May Yount Horn, age 91 years, passed away on Wednesday February 1, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas.  She was born in Sedalia, Mo. on October 11, 1925 to John and Ida Mae Dane (Scott).

Her Father passed away when she was three years old. Her Mother married Louis H. Wilken and she was raised on the Wilken farm on highway 65 south of Sedalia. Ruby attended the nearby Anderson one-room schoolhouse through the 8

grade. She attended Roosevelt High School in St. Louis, Mo.

Ruby married James M. (Jim) Yount in Malta Bend, Mo. on January 2

, 1944. They were happily married for 39 years, until his death in 1983.The family lived in Rolla, Mo. For seven years. Ruby was both a homemaker and a professional; having worked in retail much of her life. She managed clothing stores in Sedalia and was working in a large department store in San Antonio, Texas upon her retirement in 1990. Ruby loved photos of her children, and enjoyed sharing them with friends and family. She also loved sending and receiving cards and letters. She married Wilmer Horn in San Antonio, Texas on August 19

, 1989. They enjoyed one and a half years of marriage, until his death in 1991.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents John and Ida Mae Dane, step father Louis H. Wilken, first husband James M. Yount, second husband Wilmer Horn, brothers Clifford Dane and Everett Dane, Sister Mildred Stratton, step sister Marie McMullin and grandson Dane Heim.

Ruby is survived by sons, Terrence D. (Beverly) Yount of Freeport, Illinois, Steven L. (Sue) Yount of Sumter, South Carolina, Randall E. (Helen) Yount of Comfort, Texas and James M. II (Brenda) Yount of San Antonio, Texas; daughters, Victoria S. (David) Ledwell of Hesperus, Co. and Jacqueline V. Yount Heim of Castroville, Texas; grandsons, Michael S. Yount, Trevor D. Yount, Ryan J. Yount, James R. Yount, James Alfred Yount and Zachary Scott Yount; granddaughters, Jessica Yount Abernathy, Leigh Yount Hughes and Jocelyn Yount Shaw; great grandsons, Tavin Yount, Rhett Hughes, Crayton Abernathy, Caleb Shaw, Zane Shaw, James Yount Jr., Liam Dane Yount and Grayson Skylar Heim; step great grandson, Gavin Alexander Massey; great granddaughters, Megan Yount, Angelica Yount and Miranda Yount; step grandson, Josh Heim; step granddaughters, Trisha Turner, Lisa Bowling and Christy Ledwell and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

A visitation will be held at Heckart Funeral Home located at 903 S. Ohio in Sedalia, Mo. on Tuesday February 7

, 2017. The family will receive friends and well-wishers from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

The funeral service will be held at Maplewood Church, located at 25396 county highway O, north off of highway 50, approximately 1 mile East of Sedalia, on Wednesday February 8

th

, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
