Russell M. Driskell

Russell M. Driskell, 70, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at the University Hospital in Columbia, MO.

He was born May 29, 1948, in Sedalia, MO, a son of Russell E. and Georgia Mae (Lemons) Driskell.

Russell honorably served in the United States Air Force.  He was a graduate of Smith-Cotton High School and a graduate of State Fair Community College with an Associates of Science Degree.  Russell was currently serving on the Sedalia City Council as Ward 2 Councilman.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren as much as possible.

Survivors include three sons, Anthony Dwane Driskell of Potosi, MO, James Walter Driskell (Krista) of Sedalia, MO, Joshua Adam Driskell (Misty) of Sedalia, MO; ten grandchildren, Jacob, Cody, Leroy, Brian, Andrew, Emily, Jordan, Tyler, Joseph and Ava; some great-grandchildren; one sister, Theresa Lynch (Patrick) of Sedalia, MO; two step-sisters and one step-brother.

In addition to both of his parents he was preceded in death by his step-father, James McCall and one step-sister.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia.

Military honors will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the funeral home followed by a Celebration of Life service.

Inurnment will be held at a later date at Highland Sacred Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the family with checks made payable to “The Driskell Family”.
