Armand Joseph “Rusty” Weaver, 88, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Boone Hospital in Columbia.

He was born January 22, 1928, in Florence, son of Joseph and Essie Reynolds Weaver.

When he was 16, Rusty served as a Merchant Marine during World War II.

Rusty was united in marriage to Evelyn M. Potter, on June 17, 1949, in Sedalia.

He worked for 30 years for Southwestern Bell before retiring as a cable splicer.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Telephone Pioneers and Sedalia Pioneer Campers. He enjoyed woodworking and camping.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, David A. Weaver (Cheryl), of Easton, MO, A.J. Weaver (Arnel), of Austin, TX, and Dennis K. Weaver, of Sedalia; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lorene Owsley and Doyne McCown; and a brother, Gerald E. Weaver.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Glenn Sparks officiating.

Casket bearers will be Larry McCown, James Howard, Kenny Norton, Lucas Weaver, Eric Boyer and Charlie Eppes.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Friday, March 25, at Heckart Funeral Home.
