Ruth Rebecca Eschbacher, 93, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Primrose Retirement Community in Sedalia.
She was born October 29, 1930 near Cole Camp, MO, a daughter of Theodore and Lily (Junge) Harms. At an early age, Ruth was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church near Cole Camp. She attended St. John’s School and later graduated from Cole Camp High School.
After graduation, Ruth moved to Sedalia and went to work at Crown Drug Store as a waitress. It was there she met the love of her life, Donald “Duck” Eschbacher and they were married on February 19, 1955, in Sedalia. She later went to work as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 27 years.
Donald and Ruth spent many years fishing at Beaver Lake near Rogers, AR.
Ruth was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Sedalia.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald “Duck”, who passed away on May 16, 2006; two brothers, Herbert Harms (Lorene) and Marvin Harms (Helen); and a sister, Eileen Deitmaring (Ordvin).
Survivors include nieces Deborah Kimbell (Duane), Lisa Ebert (Tim) and Denise Reeb (Eddie); nephews Warren Harms (Karen), Mark Harms (Jana); and a great niece, Emma Ebert. She also leaves behind her Sedalia family, Donnie and Donna Ramey, Jeff and Lynn Wilcox, Paul and Katie Ramey, Tim and Michelle Ramey, Jessica Ramey, Jalynn Wilcox, Evan Ramey and Lucas Ramey.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sedalia.
