Sally Ann McConnell, 70, of Hughesville, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024, at her home.
She was born October 2, 1953, in Davenport, IA, daughter of Lorando “Bus” and Virginia (Bell) Brown.
On November 29, 1996, in Hughesville, she was united in marriage to Earl “George” McConnell, who preceded her in death on January 20, 2023.
Sally earned a Bachelor of Science and Master’s in Business Administration degrees. She worked in civil service for the United States Air Force.
She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church, and a 35-year member of Eastern Star in Clinton, where she was past District Deputy Matron and past Worthy Matron. She was also a member of Moose Lodge 1494, Sedville Crazy Quilters, and Appletree Quilt Shop Embroidery Club. She loved to quilt, read, and spend time with friends and family.
Surviving are three children, Cheryl Cordes (Charles), of Mora, Christopher Schoenthal (Cherie), of Sedalia, and Terry Schoenthal (Jaime), of Hughesville; eleven grandchildren: Rachel (Seth), Jenna (Bryan), Jacob (Sarah), Kadie (Chandler), C.J., Shanda, Jonathan, Matthew, Ali, Jazzmyn and Jacob; nine great-grandchildren, Jax, Meredith, Everett, Chantry, Kendall, Wyatt, Heidi, Isadora and Jesse; and four siblings, Terry Brown (Patty), of Parkville, Roger Brown (Judy Stevens), of Bettendorf, IA, David Brown, of Davenport, IA, and Paul Brown (Kendra), of Truckee, CA.
In addition to her husband of 26 years, George, she was preceded in death by her parents.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2024, at First United Methodist Church on Thompson Boulevard in Sedalia. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Candace Fowler officiating.
Casket bearers will be John Wolf, Cliff Long, Jonathan Gillespie, Jacob Cordes, Scott Shiel-Brown, and Kyle Shiel-Brown.
Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville.
Memorial contributions are suggested to First United Methodist Church or Meals on Wheels.
Arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home.
