Shawn Richard Davis, 44, of Sedalia, passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.
He was born March 8, 1977, in Sedalia, son of Richard and Cynthia (Crouch) Davis. On August 12, 2000, he married Shannon (Lake) Davis, who survives of the home.
Shawn was a 1995 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School and attended State Fair Community College. He was an avid soccer player in high school and college. He shared the love of the game with his kids and was actively coaching at the time of his passing.
He was a service technician for Spire Energy. He loved to hunt, fish and anything outdoors. Even more, he loved his family, and his dogs, Dooley and Diesel. He was a people person and always ready to help anyone in need. Shawn will be remembered for his love of family, strong work ethic, big heart and a great sense of humor.
In addition to his wife, Shannon, he is survived by his mother, Cynthia “Cindy” Davis, of Warrensburg; two daughters, Lindsey Davis and Casey Davis, of the home; a sister, Amber Davis, of Lee’s Summit; two nieces, Lexie and Lauren; and a nephew, Ryan.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A Celebration of Shawn’s Life will be 1:00 pm-3:00 pm Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Heckart Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to KU Endowment (designated to the Grantham Endowed Fund for the Kidney Institute) in care of the funeral home.
