Shelley M. Harding, 78, of Green Ridge, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018, at her home, surrounded by family.

She was born June 6, 1939, in Sedalia, daughter of Glenn C. and Lena S. (Morrow) Johnson, who preceded her in death.

On June 23, 1956, at Broadway Presbyterian Church in Sedalia, she was married to Mac Harding.

Shelley worked for 18 years at the MFA distribution warehouse. She was a member of Green Ridge Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon, elder, organist and was a member of the Martha Circle. She also belonged to the Garden Club and Camp Branch Homemakers.

Shelley was a talented musician and taught piano lessons for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, jigsaw puzzles and going to her grandkids’ ball games. She will be remembered as a loving, caring and devoted woman who was always seeking to teach others about life.

Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Mac, of the home; five children, Kelly Harding (Cheryl), Gale Dillon (Randy), Andy Harding, Meshel Scotten (Ben Banner), and Eron Harding (Audrey), all of Green Ridge; fourteen grandchildren; one step-granddaughter, Ashley Heisterberg; and two sisters, Patricia O’Brien, of St. Charles, and Sarah Gilless, of Hobbs, NM.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 21, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Pastors Randy and Dianna Marcum officiating.

Casket bearers will be grandsons: Matthew Harding, Zachary Harding, Austin Harding, Axton Harding, Alden Harding, Conner Dillon, Mason Harding and Trent Scotten.

Honorary bearers will be granddaughters: Ragin Dillon, Kylee Dillon, MacKenley Scotten, Quincy Scotten, Bailey Harding and Abbey Harding.

Burial will be in Green Ridge Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at Heckart Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to Crossroads Hospice or Green Ridge Cemetery.
