Steven E. Sutherland, 72, of Knob Noster, died Sunday, May 3, 2020, at his home.
He was born January 17, 1948, in Celina, OH, a son of Harold Sutherland and Lovetta (Shinn) Leugus.
He was raised in Celina and a 1966 graduate of Celina High School. He served his country honorably in the US Marine Corp and completed three tours to VietNam. He was head of maintenance for the Dearbrook Apartment Complex until his retirement in 2018. He was a long-time member of VFW Post 4195. Steve loved to fish and barbecue. He was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed NASCAR, Star Wars and Godzilla.
He is survived by four children, April Sutherland, of Mount Vernon, IL, Zachory Sutherland of Sedalia, Jacob Sutherland, of Knob Noster and Michael Sutherland, of Sedalia; six siblings, Jack Sutherland, Jim Sutherland, Beverly Rose, of North Stone, OH, Vyckie Richie, Wooster, OH, Becky Browder, Cullman, AL and Dave Gordon, of Celina, OH; and three grandchildren, Alex, Kelsey and Steven.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Steve’s Life will be 2-4 pm Sunday, June 28, 2020 at VFW Post 4195, Knob Noster. Full military honors will be conducted at 3 pm.
