Steven Wayne “Steve” Zehner
Steven Wayne “Steve” Zehner, 60, of Sedalia, passed away Monday, March 7, 2022, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.
He was born January 13, 1962, in Troy, NY son of Charles Nicholas and Marilyn Ann (Canan) Zehner.
Steve was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a man of many talents, including woodworking, photography, and various types of art. He was mechanically inclined and enjoyed lending a hand to others with his abilities. Steve worked in home healthcare. He loved each of his clients, especially Isaac. The highlight of Steve’s life was spending time with his grandchildren. He attended Hillcrest Baptist Church in Lebanon.
Surviving are his son, Steven Zehner and his fiancé, Genny; two grandchildren, Kaydence Zehner and Kaylee Phillips; those he considered his own kids, Chris Kirby, Joseph Williams, Cole Goodwin and Dan Sutton; and several brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his companion, Joy Miller.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2022, at Heckart Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until service time.
Memorials are suggested to a fund for his grandchildren’s education, with checks made to Steven Zehner.
