Susan Deborah Cook, 73, of Sedalia, passed away Monday, April 24, 2023, at her son’s home in Warsaw.
She was born January 26, 1950, in Sedalia, daughter of Richard and Lois G.D. (Fidler) Whitfield.
On May 4, 1969, in Bartlesville, OK, she was married to Michael D. Cook, who survives of the home. Susan was the love of Mike’s life.
Susan was a graduate of Smith-Cotton High School Class of 1967 and attended State Fair Community College. She worked at Third National Bank for many years.
She enjoyed quilting, hand embroidery, nature photography, feeding the birds and squirrels, flowers, gardening, and creek fishing. She was an avid reader and enjoyed music. Susan was energetic and quick to laugh.
In addition to her husband of 53 years, survivors include two children, Kelly Davis, of Sedalia, and Matthew Cook, of Warsaw; three grandchildren, Dayna Davis, Dylan Davis and Keyleigh Cook, and one grandson Cook on the way; two sisters, Sandra Burton, of Sedalia, and Judy Whitfield, of Republic; and sister-in-law, Sandy Sue Whitfield, of Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gary Whitfield.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2023, at Heckart Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Dresden Cemetery.
