Susan Lynn Frazelle, 58, of Warrensburg, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
Born May 1, 1962, in Sedalia, she was one of three children of Billy Joe and Lynda Sue (Piper) McDaniels.
Susan was a fierce, loving woman who welcomed everyone she met into her family and always tried her best to help and care for every child and animal that came her way. She was known as the “cat lady” by most for her dedication to provide care and love to the stray cats in her neighborhood with the help of a Sedalia-based trap, neuter, release program. She had many jobs—EMT, Cop, Storm chaser—but taking care of children and animals was her heart’s passion.
To many, she’ll be remembered as the woman who was there when nobody else was; to offer advice, assistance, or even a dose of reality. The children in her life will remember her as Nana, the woman who was always there to give extra love and to spoil them in the way only she could. To everyone, she will be remembered as the remarkably strong woman whom inspired strength and resilience in others as she fought and survived through life’s challenges and great illness for as long as she was able.
Surviving are two children, Justin Franklin (Misty), of Warrensburg, and Alana Jones (Michael), of Marshall; three grandchildren, Gaius, Lithia, and Mercy; a sister, Alicia Vinton, of Olathe, KS, and Brian Smith, of Warrensburg.
