Thelma F. “Sue” Turner, 78, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday morning, June 23, 2019, at her home.
She was born July 4, 1940, in Jamestown, daughter of Clarence Lee Comfort Sr. and Jewell Dean (Hampton) Comfort.
On July 29, 1956, in Sedalia, she married James W. Turner Jr., who died February 12, 2015.
Sue’s life revolved around her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Whatever was important to her family was important to her. Her grandchildren especially brought her joy. Sue’s smile would light up a room. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are two sons, James Turner and Rick Turner (Melissa), of Sedalia; three daughters, Vicky Reynolds, Brenda Turner (Tim), of Sedalia, and Pamela Warren (Robert), of Columbia; eleven grandchildren, Jeremiah Reynolds, Christina Horn, James D. Turner Jr., Chelsea Turner, Sarah Kim (Jae), Laura Turner, Gracie Haugen (Michael), Jessica Warren, James Warren (Sagan), Sabrina Bishop (Joe), and Samantha Warren (Robert); 13 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Lee Comfort Jr. and Jim Comfort.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter-in-law, Stacey Reynolds; and brother, Bob Comfort.
A celebration of Sue and James’ life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at Heckart Funeral Home.
Honorary bearers will be Lee Comfort Jr., Jim Comfort, Sennon Turner, Clayborn Turner, Theresa Smith, Wilma Zien and Sundra Comfort.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
