Thelma Viola Miller, 99, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Four Seasons Living Center.

She was born February 19, 1916, in Calhoun, daughter of Walter and Minnie Pearl Little Witt, who preceded her in death.

On February 9, 1934, in Clinton, she was united in marriage to Clyde Smith Miller, who preceded her in death on March 24, 1981.

Thelma was a member of Broadway Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon and elder, and was a member of the O’Dell Circle.

She was a homemaker and liked working in her flowers, but her greatest joy came from being a mother and grandmother.

Thelma is survived by three sons, Clyde Duane Miller (Carolyn), of Warsaw, William Walter Miller (Sara), of Independence, and Scott Deane Miller, of Defiance; two daughters, Marlene James (Robert), of Independence, and Patricia Estes (Terry), of Sedalia; one sister, Wilma Anderson, of Easley, S.C.; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Leland, Raymond, Forrest, Thurman and Walter Witt; and one sister, Letha Palmer.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Heckart Funeral Home.

Casket bearers will be Steven Miller, Cary Miller, Kevin Miller, Ian Estes, Mark James and Lt. Col. Sam Miller. Clyde David Miller will be an honorary bearer.

Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery in Windsor.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Broadway Presbyterian Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
