Thomas A. Smith

Thomas Allen Smith, 46, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

He was born January 10, 1971, in Oberlin, Ohio, son of Harold Perkins and Lizzie Smith.

On April 20, 2012, in Sedalia, he was married to Rebecca R. Overly, who survives of the home.

Thomas worked with the disabled. He enjoyed traveling and watching sports. His favorite teams were the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Cavaliers. He was a member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Elyria, Ohio.

Thomas will be remembered as very loving and caring. He was a good listener. He was especially proud of his newest granddaughter who was born three weeks ago.

In addition to his wife Rebecca, survivors include five children, Olivia Smith, Hannah Smith, Shara Lee, Richard Campbell and Briana Parks; three grandchildren, Jayden, Laci and Lilianna; and his brother, Christopher Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in Ohio.

Cremation arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home.
