Thomas Eugene Perkins, 67, of Sweet Springs went to live with his Heavenly Father on July 2, 2021 at Boone Hospital in Columbia.
He was born November 29, 1953, in Gibson City, IL, son of Francis and Alice (Blackmore) Perkins.
Thomas served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam era, from December 1971 to December 1975.
On July 5,2008, in Sweet Springs, he married Jackie (Adams).
Thomas worked for 30 years in the auto department at the Marshall Walmart. The last 8 years he worked for Sylvester’s Machine Shop.
He was a member of Worship House of Sedalia, MO
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and man of God. He was kind and helpful. He welcomed his step children and grandchildren as his very own. He was especially fond of his Bubba Louie. He could fix anything and make the piece to fix it if he did not have it. He was an avid deer hunter.
Survivors include his wife Jackie, 2 daughters, Angel Marie Perkins, Erica Jean Perkins, both of Sweet Springs, 2 step daughters, Holly Fisher and Gabrielle (Mason) Miner of Sweet Springs, Step son Matthew (Jessica) Fisher of Sedalia, 9 grandchildren, Chloe Fisher (who was raised as his own daughter), Cayden Jett, Gabriel, Belle, Braylon, Henry, and Soren Miner, Gideon “Bubba Louie” Fisher, and Garrett Dieckhoff, brothers, David (Connie) Perkins of Florida, Daniel (Wendy) Perkins of New Jersey, James (Rose Mary) Perkins of Marshall, MO, John (Denise) Perkins of Australia, Brother-In-Law Cyrus (Mary) Crowder of Tennessee, sisters Patricia (John) Bakert of Miami, MO, Susan (Harry) Brissett of St. Joseph, MO, Winnie (Rodney) Jacobs of Harrisonville, MO, and Mary(Larry) Dempsey of Blue Springs, MO, 3 aunts Karen Payne of California, Betty Atkins of Texas, June Schnoor of Wisconsin, and many nieces and nephews and so many friends, Everyone loved Tom.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am at the Worship House in Sedalia, MO, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am Thursday July 8. Pastor Dutch Boer will officiate.
Burial will be at a later date in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville.
Memorials may be given to Worship House.
Cremation arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home.
