Tia Kaye Demand, 47, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Monday, October 14th, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was born April 4th, 1977 in Woodstock, IL. She was the oldest daughter of Michael Moon and Christine (Burke) Moon. She also was blessed with step mother of 40 years, Diana 'Denice' Moon and step father of 35 years, James Neumeister.
Tia graduated at Smith-Cotton High School, Class of 1995. She continued her education to earn her LPN and RN degrees. She worked as a Labor and Delivery nurse at Bothwell Regional Health Center for multiple years before transitioning into the IT Department.
Tia married Justin Demand of Smithton, MO on October 6, 2001. During their 22 years of marriage they had 3 beautiful children that were her pride and joy, Kaelynn (18), Brody (17), and Jessie (11).
She was preceded in death by her mother, Chris Moon and brother, Cory Moon, her paternal grandparents, Richard and Marlene Moon, maternal grandfather, Richard Burke, and step grandparents, Charlie and June Sleeper.
Tia is survived by parents Mike and Denice Moon of Ionia, MO, stepfather Jim Neumeister of La Crosse, WI, brother Cody (Anne) Moon of Chicago, IL, and sister Mikaela (Mark) Mueller of Smithton, IL. Tia was the fun, loving aunt to William and Catherine Moon, Mason and Maddox Mueller and her late brother Cory's daughter, Lily Nine of Cole Camp, MO. She was also loved by many aunts, uncles and cousins that will miss her deeply.
Tia was a free spirit that loved hard and gave with her whole heart at the drop of a dime. She was a loyal friend, daughter and sister. She loved her kids "to the Moon and Back and then some". Her kids were her whole world.
She loved the color purple, flowers, gardening, spending Christmas with family and dressing up and decorating for Halloween. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends no matter the occasion. She was an active member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. Tia volunteered many hours to her children's extracurricular activities and would go above and beyond with any commitments she made. She also loved music, going to concerts and singing and dancing along to her favorite songs. And if there was a fishing hole nearby, you could find her there for countless hours with her family.
Tia will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her love and light will continue to shine through our lives as she has left an incredible mark on our hearts. Her selflessness continues, through her enduring spirit of giving and compassion, as she has given the priceless gift of life to others, by being an organ donor.
