Twyla A. (Wadleigh) Leemhuis

In Loving Memory…

Twyla Ann Leemhuis (Wadleigh) 64, went to be with Jesus Wednesday January 15, 2014. She was born on October 15, 1949 and was the third child of Omer and Iva Wadleigh.  She was preceded in death by her father Omer Wadleigh and her brother Roger Wadleigh.

Twyla was born and raised in Sedalia, Missouri.  She graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in 1967 and spent much of her life in Missouri.  She and her devoted husband James Leemhuis also spent many years living and loving in Florida, but the call of her beloved grandchildren brought her back to Sedalia.

To Twyla, family was everything.  Twyla married the love of her life James Leemhuis on December 29, 1984 with her son Kelly by her side and they had 29 adventure filled, wonderful years together.  She had one son, Kelly Campbell and she loved his wife Amy as her own daughter.  Twyla also had two grandchildren Morgan and WJ Campbell both of which she adored.  Her family was her life and her grandchildren were the apples of her eye.  She cherished every second she spent with all of them.

Twyla was a wonderful artist and worked in many different mediums.  For much of her life she worked retouching photograph negatives by hand.  She also painted, sewed, quilted and made an art out of taking care of the ones she loved.  She had an open heart and made everyone feel welcome.  She always knew the right thing to say and do to make your day better.  Twyla was a very determined lady and there wasn’t anything she couldn’t do when she put her mind to it.  Watching her grandchildren learn and grow was her favorite pastime.  She loved them both dearly and will be greatly missed by all.

Twyla leaves behind many family and friends who include her husband, James Leemhuis, her mother, Iva Wadleigh, her brother, Charles Wadleigh (wife Judy), her son Kelly Campbell (wife Amy), and two grandchildren Morgan and WJ Campbell.

Those who knew Twyla already know she was the most wonderful Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend anyone ever had.

Those who wish to share their joy of knowing Twyla are asked to join the family in a celebration of her life at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 2803 Hogan Road, Smithton, MO.  Dinner will follow.

Cards and condolences can be sent in care of Heckart Funeral Home, 903 South Ohio Sedalia, Missouri 65301.
