Veronica Tillery, 93, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2019 at her home.
Better known as Ronnie, she was born April 7, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of Matthew and Alice (Reimling) Fauvell.
On June 11, 1949 she married Roy E. Westlake, who preceded her in death in 1960.
On September 3, 1965 she married William L. Tillery, who preceded her in death in 1995.
Veronica worked as a CNA at Bothwell Hospital for several years, before retiring to care for her husband. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she was a Primary teacher and the Primary President. She and William went on a Stake mission. Veronica loved and dedicated her life to her children. Everyone who knew her loved her.
She loved big band music, the crooners of by-gone years (Mathis and Nat King Cole), and would occasionally sing her favorite Streisand song (People).
Anything she wanted to learn she accomplished,making homemade bread, crocheting/knitting, and sign language. She taught sign language classes in church. She was an excellent Canasta and Scrabble player.
Veronica loved Christmas movies, some scary movies, and definitely Hitchcock. She enjoyed listening to the St. Louis Cardinals games on the radio.
The last year of her life she would ask “are the kids happy and will they be okay when I go? (especially Debbie).
Surviving are five children: Patricia Westlake of Murray, UT, Roy Westlake (Denise) of Boise, ID, Jeff Westlake (Cindy) of Sapulpa, OK, Debbie Denham of Sedalia, MO, and Steve Westlake (Jennifer) of Astoria, OR; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jack Fauvell, of New York.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Matthew, Jim, Mike and Charles Fauvell.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Crown Hill Cemetery, with Bishop Evan Stout officiating.
Memorials are suggested to the family. Arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home.
