Viola Elsie “Susie” Harms, 100, of Sedalia, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019, in the loving care of Good Samaritan Care Center in Cole Camp.
She was born September 1, 1918, in Benton County, daughter of John and Lennie May (Harvey) Long.
On September 10, 1939, she married Clarence Elmer Bybee, who preceded her in death on November 7, 1964.
Susie was a quiet, but very friendly person. She was always pleasant, always had a smile and never got angry. As a result, she was loved by everyone who knew her. She was always on the go and especially enjoyed day trips. She enjoyed working in her flowers and loved the color pink.
Susie was a Christian and was a member of Broadway Baptist Church.
Surviving are two children, Charles Bybee, of Smithton, and Linda Knox, of Sedalia; three grandchildren, Terrinda “Terry Sue” Miller (Darren), Eddie Bybee (Dawn), and Christie Baker (Brad); seven great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by husbands, Lloyd Bennett and Paul Harms; her parents; three sisters, Zona, Ollie and Alpha; two brothers, Herbert and Virgil (her twin); daughter-in-law, Dorothy Bybee; and son-in-law, Wayne Knox.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel Cemetery near Edwards, MO, with Rev. Jason Veale officiating.
Casket bearers will be Eddie Bybee, Darren Miller, Brad Baker, Jonathon Southard, Chase Bybee and Michael Stratton.
Memorials are suggested to Good Samaritan Care Center.
