Vivian Elaine Atwell Norman Daniels passed away at age 90 in her home surrounded by family.

Vivian was preceded in death by her first husband, Cleo Norman, of Sedalia, MO, and second husband, “Gene” Daniels, of Independence, KS. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Laine, and her great-grandson, Ethan Kunze Goetsch.

Vivian was born at home in June of 1930, in St. Louis County, MO. She moved to Knob Noster, MO as a young teenager. Her father wanted to farm. She graduated in 1947 from Knob Noster High School. Vivian then graduated from Missouri Teachers College, now known as UCM. She began teaching in a one-room schoolhouse just out of high school and continued to teach in Knob Noster. She was the first principal of Whiteman Air Force Base Elementary School. In 1961 she moved to the Long Beach, CA area and taught there until retiring in 1990. After retiring, she taught oil painting classes to the elderly. Her joy was visiting elderly shut-ins every day of the week.

She enjoyed painting, traveling, crocheting, knitting and reading.

Vivian is survived by one sister, Delores Vogler, of Warrensburg, daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Jim Henson, of Otterville, daughter Larna Norman, of Warrensburg. Vivian has six grandchildren Jon (Kris) Hibbs, Robin Hibbs, Christopher (Nova) Henson, Timothy (Alayna) Kunze, Jr., Dana (Hilary) Kunze, Lindsey (Joe) Embry, nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Special in her heart is her Church of Christ family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia. A dinner will be served at the Heckart Family Center following the service. The service will be livestreamed on Heckart Funeral Home’s Facebook page.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2021 at Heckart Funeral Home.

Private burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Warrensburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Warrensburg Meals on Wheels or Senior Center of Warrensburg in care of the funeral home.
