Wanda Lee Kelley, 87, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at her home.
She was born May 5, 1936, in Morgan County, a daughter of the late Leo A. and Zelma (Otten) Mosier. On June 27, 1960, she married Robert Eugene Kelley, who preceded her in death on August 4, 2007.
Wanda was a 1954 graduate of Smith Cotton High School. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she served many years as a Kindergarten Sunday school teacher. She had been a member of Calvary longer than anyone currently attending Calvary.
Family was important to Wanda. She was a mother figure to her three younger siblings, Tim, Debbie and Tammy, showering them with love and kindness. She kept track of all her family out of care and concern, always ending conversations with “I love you”.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading magazines, taking care of the neighborhood cats, watching the birds, Fox News and genealogy.
Survivors include a daughter, Camilla Ann “Cammie” Kelley; a brother, Tim Mosier; two sisters, Debbie DeGonia (John) and Tammy Young (Aaron); two grandsons, Benjamin Lahmeyer (Dameres) and Brandon Lahmeyer (Johna); two great-grandsons, Connor and Ethan Lahmeyer; all of Sedalia; many special nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and her beloved dog, Sadie.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard “Dickie” Mosier, who died in 1986.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Wallenbeck officiating.
Casket bearers will be Justin Sorrell, Jack Hazell, Benjamin Lahmeyer, Brandon Lahmeyer, Donnie Gibbs and Jasper Johnson. Honorary bearers will be the Deacons of Calvary Baptist Church and Connor Lahmeyer.
Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.
Visitation will be at 10:00 am until service time at the church.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Calvary Baptist Church in care of Heckart Funeral Home.
