Wanda Lee Walz, 83, of Green Ridge, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born November 28, 1929. She was the daughter of Lee and Leona Trout.
She graduated from Smithton High School in 1947. She wed Denzil Eichholz in August 1947. He preceded her in death in 1969. In July 1972 she married Franklin Walz, who survives of the home.
She worked a short while at Lamy Manufacturing and at Inter State Studios for 17 1/2 years. She enjoyed working on the farm and watching all of the animals. Her grandchildren were her passion. She loved watching them play sports, supporting them in their school activities and talking with them.
She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Eichholz, of the home, Merle Ragar (Mike) of Sedalia and Terry Walz of Killeen, TX.; one son, Tom Walz (Ginger) of LaMonte; one sister Linda Winfree of South Pittsburg, TN.; two grandsons, three granddaughters, two great-grandsons and four great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Cheri Dove; and two brothers, Donald and Allen Trout.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Heckart Funeral Home, with Pastors Randy and Dianna Marcum officiating.
Casket bearers will be Matt Dove, Joe Walz, Steve Callahan, Jim Dove, Mike Ragar, Greg Myers and Don Kuhlman. Honorary bearers will be Jamie Dove, Tracy Schroeder, Justin Schroeder, Joy Walz, Samantha Dove and Amanda Oelrichs.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Heckart Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Green Ridge Presbyterian Church or the Cheri Dove Memorial Scholarship Fund.
