Wayne Baslee, 83, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.
He was born November 23, 1938, in Boonville, a son of the late Robert and Ann C. (Neubauer) Baslee. On August 19, 1961, in Boonville, he married Wilma S. (Bishop), who survives of the home.
Wayne served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. After he was discharged from the Air Force, he worked civil service as a civil engineer, retiring at age 62.
He was an active member of Immanuel United Church of Christ for over 50 years, serving on church council and doing maintenance at the church. He and Wilma had several rental houses, which he considered his hobby.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma; two children, Mitch Baslee (Kendra), of Cole Camp, and Kim Gardner, of South Carolina; five grandchildren, Kyle, Kelsie, Kara, Madeleine and Reis; a brother, Clay Baslee; and a sister, Jean Wilkinson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Baslee and Jack Baslee; and a sister, Kay Barnes.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Heckart Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Immanuel United Church of Christ, Crossroads Hospice, or the Alzheimer’s Association, in care of the funeral home.
