Willard L. Barnett

Willard Leo Barnett, 82, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018, at his home.

He was born July 27, 1935, in Lutie, MO, the son of Emory Oscar Barnett and Vonnie Shirley Friend Barnett.

On February 14, 1952, in Mountain Home, AR, he was united in marriage to Lizzie Audrey Lorene Lewis.

Willard worked many jobs which included building dams, farming and for the Ewing family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working in the garden and yard, and listening to bluegrass music. He was a wonderful husband, dad and grandpa. He was a hard worker. He will be remembered for his storytelling and bringing a smile to your face.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Lizzie; children, Dewayne Barnett (Penny), of Hermitage, Linda Meek (Ted), of Sedalia, Leo Barnett (Donita), of Collins, Brenda Clark (Dilbert), of Mora, Wilbur Barnett, of Sedalia, Lana Kentner (Steve), of Mountain View, Bobby Barnett, of the home, Ricky Barnett, Drew Barnett (Dayhna), and Jamie Barnett (LaCrista), all of Sedalia; many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and six siblings, Irene Partee, Norene Sisney, Lorene Eckley, Leonard Barnett, Kevin Barnett and Louise Barnett.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Dennie Barnett; great-granddaughter, Avia Meek; great-grandson, Cody Vinson; and a brother, Cleo Barnett.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 20, at Heckart Funeral Home.

Casket bearers will be Linda Meek, Brenda Clark, Lana Kentner, Drew Barnett, Shane Davis and Jamie Barnett.

Honorary bearers will be Leo Barnett, Wilbur Barnett, Bobby Barnett, Ricky Barnett, Dewayne Barnett, Leonard Barnett, Kevin Barnett, Jesse Barnett, Jeremiah Jones, Nathan Green and Travis Davis.

Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Dunksburg.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time Saturday at Heckart Funeral Home
