William Dwight Miller, 85, of Sedalia, died Thursday, November 29, 2018, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
He was born February 22, 1933, in Sedalia, son of Jack and Lora (Smith) Miller.
On April 3, 1971, in Sedalia, he married Patricia Lou Rutliff, who preceded him in death on February 5, 1988.
William worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad in his early years, and then in commercial construction for many years. He was a member of the Sedalia Laborers Union, and VFW Post 2591, where he was a past commander. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda Glenn (Wayne), of Albia, IA; three grandchildren, Brian Glenn (Julie), of West Des Moines, IA, Lisa Crow (Danny), of Albia, IA, and Kristi Beebe (Steve), of Albia, IA; three great-grandchildren, Brandon Radke, Dylan Beebe and Delaney Crow; two step-great-grandchildren, Michael and Morgan; two great-great-grandchildren, Wesley and Evelyn; and a sister, Gloria Grandfield.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ralph Dean; and two brothers, Kenneth Miller and Marvin Ray Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2018, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Pastor Chris Cantrell officiating.
Casket bearers will be Don Albert, Wayne Glenn, John Grandfield, Joe Grandfield, Warren Grandfield and Danny Crow.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
