Wynona Virginia O'Neill, 89, of Sedalia, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at EW Thompson Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on December 11, 1934, in New Castle, OK, Wynona was the daughter of Charles Arthur and Loretta (Garrett) King. On April 3, 1959, she married the love of her life, Eldon Foss O'Neill, at East Sedalia Baptist Church, who preceded her in death on October 22, 2013.
Wynona was a graduate of New Castle High School in Oklahoma and later completed her education at Central Business College. She devoted many years of her career as the Human Resource Manager at Interstate Studios, leaving an indelible mark with her professionalism and dedication.
A member of East Sedalia Baptist Church, Wynona actively served her community in various capacities. She was a loving wife and mother, known for her delectable chocolate chip cookies and peanut brittle. Wynona took immense pride in watching her grandchildren play sports and cherished every moment with them.
Wynona and Eldon shared a passion for outdoor activities, having explored all 50 states during their lifetime. Their love for walking, riding bikes, visiting Silver Dollar City, and traveling with friends and family created lasting memories.
Wynona lovingly cared for Eldon as he battled his illness until his death, a testament to her unwavering commitment to family.
Survivors include her two children, Patrick O'Neill of Sedalia and Mary Libby of Camdenton; four grandchildren, Christian Libby (Kerrington) of Linn Creek, MO, Derek Libby (Katie) of Kansas City, MO, Chelsi Miller (Travis) of Camdenton, MO, and Branden O'Neill of Sedalia, MO; six great-grandchildren, Hayleigh Libby, ViviAnne Libby, Tyler Libby, Emily Libby, Jone Miller, and Rory Libby; one sister, Cheryl Hayes of Springfield, MO; one brother, Wayne King of Oklahoma City, OK; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Wynona was preceded in death by four siblings, Jack King, Crafton King, Louise Ryan, and Thelma Woolridge.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Viola Rhoads officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Christian Libby, Derek Libby, Branden O'Neill, and Travis Miller. Honorary bearers will be John Hayes, Dan Ryan, Charles Ryan, Jim Ryan, Paul Anderson, Gene Anderson, David Taylor, John Hart, and Bruce Kunkel.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Salem Cemetery or East Sedalia Baptist Church.
