Yvonne Jeannette Jaeger Werner, 93, of Sedalia, passed away Friday, September 23, 2016, at Winchester Meadows.
She was born December 26, 1922, in Truman, Minnesota, daughter of Martin J. and Lettie Peterson Helvig.
On June 7, 1942, she married Gerhardt Carl Jaeger, who preceded her in death on March 14, 1971.
On May 8, 1977, she married Robert Albert Werner, who preceded her in death on March 12, 2013.
Yvonne was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, where she was active in the women’s groups and sang in the choir. She worked at Sears for more than twenty years. She enjoyed quilting, golfing, bowling, playing cards, dancing and gardening.
Yvonne will be remembered as a friendly person who was full of life and love. She always had a smile and could bring out a smile in anyone. She especially loved her family and spending time with them.
Surviving are a daughter, Becky Wimann (Jeff), of Sedalia; two sons-in-law, John Johnson, of Greeley, CO, and Gary Spragg, of Rogersville, MO; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Vicki Spragg and Gayleen Johnson; two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 27, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, with Pastors Chris Kellogg and Andrew Tessone officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Our Savior Lutheran Church or the Sedalia School District Foundation.
