Yvonne Maxine Shull, 88, of Sedalia, passed away Monday, February 24, 2014, at her home.
She was born July 7, 1925, in Sedalia, daughter of Cynthia Pervia Smith Braden. On May 4, 1944, in Wyandotte County, KS, she married James N. Shull, who preceded her in death on April 16, 2001.
Mrs. Shull had worked at Garst’s Drive-in, Lamy’s, Zephyr’s and Rival in earlier years. When her kids were young, she was active in the PTA at Jefferson School, serving as president, and was involved in getting the gym built. She was an active member of Crossroads Family Worship Church of God in Sedalia. She enjoyed Bible study and church activities, sewing, canning, baking and collecting stamps, dolls and angels. Her life was centered around her family.
Surviving are three children, Cindy McKinney (Kennard), of Belton, Candy Kares (Joseph), of Sedalia, and Dale Shull (Julie), of Sedalia; 10 grandchildren, Michelle, Heather, Shawn, Shannon, Cassie, Jamie, Kevin, Ryan, Pat and Josh; 13 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a brother, Harold Joseph Braden, of Mineola, TX.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James Larry Shull; a brother, Peter Braden; and a sister, Judith Fincher.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 28, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Randall Baugus and the Rev. Sid Mabry, Jr. officiating.
Casket bearers will be grandsons.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Heckart Funeral Home.
